Every version of ancient South American culture has a ton of bird references. Sometimes it’s a warrior,

sometime it’s good luck. Rest of them are drenched in mythical lore.

 

This very motif, is such a design. It’s supernatural. Maybe even Gods. Who knows why someone chose to depict an avian being in such a shape, what was the significance. We don’t know yet, and might never.

However, they might also be aliens, and that makes us strangely happy.
